Home / FAQs /How to Give Notice to Landlord in Ontario?
To give notice to your landlord in Ontario, you must use the official N9 form (Tenant’s Notice to Terminate the Tenancy). Most tenants on a monthly tenancy must give at least 60 days written notice, and the notice must end on the last day of a rental period.
For fixed-term leases, notice rules may differ. Submit the notice in writing by hand, mail, or email if your landlord agrees. If you are unsure whether your notice is valid, a Tenant Paralegal can review it before you submit.
